St John 2006

We had a wonderful time in St John, staying at the "Idyllic" Villa. Anna, Neil, Sarah, Uncle Jim, Aunt Janine, and "Uncle" Mike. Mike, Jim, and Janine went diving a couple days. But mostly we went to the beach and just enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the warm weather.

On the flight down, Mike sat in front of Anna and Sarah and realized the limitations of noise canceling headphones. (Sarah). Our flight was delayed by over and hour and we just made the connection from San Juan to St Thomas. Jim & Janine's bag didn't make the connection, so we had to hang around until the next flight from San Juan came to get their bag. We got in 3 hours later to St John than anticipated. Lisa from vacationvistas was there to meet us at the ferry dock though.

A local who lives on Gibney called the park service when we told him about the turtle. They came within about a 1/2 hour to get it. Evidently the shell can be worth thousands of dollars. The turtle was quite large, and the people from the park service thought it was old. Maybe got bitten by a shark though. So sad.
